Halloween is creeping up on us, which means following a clean-eating regimen can be really damn hard. For some, staying away from Halloween candy is easy, but not everyone can resist the temptation.
But temptation doesn’t have to be torture. You’d be surprised at how many healthier Halloween candy alternatives are out there that taste just like the ones you’re used to – if not better!
This year, clean up your Halloween basket with these healthier candies. You’ll end up feeling much less guilty (and much happier!) knowing you’re consuming real food, not junk.
Instead of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, try Justin’s Peanut Butter Cups!

At first glance, there’s not much of a difference in these two. Considering Hershey’s recently removed the high fructose corn syrup from their ingredients list, Reese’s cups don’t appear to be a bad option for a candy. But you can’t deny that Justin’s top-notch organic ingredients shine like a diamond in comparison. Plus, Justin’s cups contain 23% less sugar than Reese’s. That’s a pretty significant amount!

OK, so we know that with consuming any candy, organic or not, there’s going to be sugar. Choosing a healthier alternative of candy means limiting exposure to other harmful additives and selecting better sweeteners than refined sugar. While both of these lollipops consist of mostly sugar, you’ll sleep better knowing the healthy alternative’s coloring is plant-based from real fruits and vegetables.

I’ll be honest here, Snickers is my favorite candy. I’ve found tons of Pinterest recipes for DIY Snickers bars, but I have to say this alternative looks pretty promising.

Endangered Species Dark Chocolate Bug Bites Ingredients: Dark Chocolate (Chocolate Liquor, Cane Sugar, Cocoa Butter, Cocoa Powder, Soy Lecithin, Vanilla).
The ingredients here are pretty much the same. It should be noted that Endangered Species also makes a Milk Chocolate Bug Bites option, which ingredients are notably the same as Hershey’s Kisses. It wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world if you consumed these childhood-favorites – just maybe opt for the dark chocolate Kisses instead!
Instead of Werther’s Caramel Candies, try Cocomels Coconut Milk Caramels!

Yikes – all that for a little caramel? Considering I can’t even pronounce half of the Werther’s ingredients, nor do I know what they are… it’s best to stay away. Opt for a dairy/gluten-free option from Cocomels instead. They even have multiple flavors!
