Mayonnaise is a polarizing condiment… and I totally get why. I don’t blame anyone who shies away from this repulsive, emulsified concoction of raw eggs, sugar, and vinegar… because it literally sounds disgusting. But mayonnaise has such a sweet, delicious flavor that simply can’t be replaced.

Luckily, we’ve all been #blessed by the existence of vegan mayo. While vegan mayo doesn’t change the whole consistency issue many people have, at least it doesn’t contain raw eggs. No eggs = much less gag-factor.

I’m more comfortable not consuming raw eggs, but is vegan mayo healthier than traditional mayo? Not necessarily.

First of all, there are some great, clean traditional mayonnaises on the market – even Paleo-friendly options. Primal Kitchen’s Avocado Oil Mayo is made with only avocado oil, organic cage-free eggs, organic egg yolks, organic vinegar, sea salt, and rosemary extract. No weird vegetable oils, sugars, or GMOs.

But if you want to dive into the vegan world of mayonnaise, you may be overwhelmed to find a ton of soy-based products, which are no bueno. Breast cancer runs in my family, so I personally stay away from soy products. Keeping this in mind, along with sugar content and overall ingredients, I’ve created a list of the best 3 vegan mayo options out there. This way, you can enjoy all the creamy mayo goodness without the worry!
